  1. Hi! I would love to get more info on creating a custom mirror for a safety awareness campaign I founded called It Could Be Me. How could I go about doing that? Thank you so much!!

    • Hello. What kind of mirror are you thinking about making? I looked at your web site and am not exactly certain what you do and what you are looking to find out from us. What I can tell you is, it’s taken us almost 10 years to perfect our mirror; and, in fact we are making a running upgrade with the coating on the next batch of wire forms. The mirror isn’t as simple as it looks – the actual glass is safety glass, cut by water jet and then sealed; the back is made from plastic in a mold we had made and once done, it is sent to have the logo printed on the back to another company; the wire form is produced by a wire forming company, threaded by Phil Wood in California, and coated by a special vinyl coating process. We then glue the mirror to the back, place a white dot on the wire form, put two more special bends in the wire, inspect, clean, and package each one – all individually, by hand. Except for the wire threading, it’s all done here in Ohio. We were working on a mirror for a ball cap; but, that hasn’t been a big priority and it’s currently on the back burner for other projects. Contact me via email (dlbees@gmail.com) if you’d like to discuss this more! Thanks. Diane

  2. Only riding 6 months per year, my 2.5 yr old mirror surface is 90% “grayed over” and unuseable – what causes this and is it fixable ?

  3. I noticed at one point in your video you said not to bend the form. That seems to be the only way I can get it to the correct position when I have my head in a bicycling position. Do I have this wrong?

    • o no – you can bend the wire in the middle! Just don’t try to bend it at the mirror/wire intersection. We expect that you will need to make adjustments to the wire.

It’s really “tough” – so, you can use a pliers, just be careful. If you break it – not to worry; we’ll replace it.

      Happy Holidays,

  5. Hello! I just heard you on NPR and I need a copy of that 80 y/o guy’s bike you built him! I’m 40 and have degenerative disc disease and can completely relate to that pain he was talking about. I’ve already had to give up so much of my other normal activities and I love biking but it hurts to have to slightly crane my neck ya know. Please if you could spare some time to discuss I would be very grateful.

    • Hi Anthony – there is no such thing as a “copy”… every bike is fit, designed, and built to order. We absolutely would love to chat with you!

      Best regards,

      Diane & Brian
